NLP Practitioner Course Content

Cause and Effect

This is a very important element in NLP. Those at the ‘effect’ side of life will blame external circumstances for their situation in life and come up with external reasons justifying their position. When we stop blaming and move to the ‘cause’ side of life, we take responsibility for ourselves, our lives and our choices. It is a very empowering and positive place to be and the tools in NLP help you to get there.

How to create change in yourself and others

By creating change in yourself you can encourage and help others to do the same. We all have beliefs about ourselves that we hold as being true so therefore our behaviour will adjust itself to support our beliefs. When we change our beliefs into powerful and positive ones, our behaviour will follow suit. And when we set goals and outcomes, we will achieve them!

How to create deep rapport

We unconsciously create rapport with people we like and break it with people we don’t like. We can learn how to consciously create rapport with people and be able to observe if our communication is taking effect as to communicate effectively, we will need to be in rapport. Great for business, therapy or social situations.

Master language and communication

Learn how to understand other peoples’ language styles in order to adapt your own language so that effective communication takes place. People also speak in different ‘chunk sizes’ – some people may be more ‘vague’ with their language and talk in terms of big picture. Other people are very specific and very detailed with their use of language, they may talk to you in lots and lots of detail! Learn about the specifics of Meta Model and how to use certain questions in order to help a person recover lost information. Milton Model is an artfully vague and ambiguous language and you will learn how to use it in hypnosis and how to enhance presentations in the most elegant manner. Understanding language in communication will help you to develop excellent communication skills and negotiate with ease.

Enhancing your sensory acuity

You will learn how to develop your sensory acuity skills to such a degree so that you can observe minute by minute state changes in a person’s physiology and understand if you are in rapport with them and whether your communication is taking effect.

Understanding strategies and the impact it has on human behaviour

We have strategies for everything we do from eating, decision-making, motivation, learning, love, happiness, spelling, procrastination, buying, attraction, cleaning etc. All our behaviours are governed by strategies. They are sequences of specific steps we do in our heads unconsciously that consistently produce a specific result. Some people’s strategies may be unhelpful, e.g. a person may walk into the shop, see a selection of lovely clothes and buy them while forgetting to check the price – that’s a strategy! In sales, it’s vital to know how to elicit the client’s decision making and buying strategy and to feed it back to them. So to make it easier for them to buy from you. We will show you how to elicit someone’s strategy, how to use it constructively and also change it into a more helpful strategy if it’s causing problems for the client. Others may have a particular relationship strategy that results with them getting into intimate relationships with the wrong people. People who have been labelled ‘dyslexic’ can learn a spelling and learning strategy to enable them to spell more effectively. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is actually a long-strategy gone haywire and the good news is that strategies can be changed!

Eye Patterns

Did you know that we move our eyes into certain quadrants in order to access internal information? When people look upwards they are accessing visual information, when they look to the side they are obtaining auditory information and looking down they are getting in touch with feelings or accessing criteria, data or internal dialogue. Knowledge of eye patterns are essential when learning about strategies and learning styles.

Understanding internal representations

Internal representations are a result of what happens inside our heads as we process an external event or experience. They are a combination of pictures, sounds, feelings. Once we have created an internal representation about something, that creates our state (how we feel) and coupled with our physiology produces our behaviour. To change an unhelpful behaviour into more a empowering one, we create change further up the tree – we change the internal representation which will in turn change the state and change the behaviour. Therefore when we change disempowering beliefs into powerful and positive new ones, your inner potential is limitless. You can change your internal representations using submodalities and thus change how you feel about particular things. Using swish patterns we can also change minor negative habits or behaviours by working on our internal representations.

Representational systems

Learn how you and others access and recall information and data internally. This will help you establish your preferred way or learning. Some people learn better through seeing (visually), sounds (auditory) or walking step by step through a process (kinaesthetic).

Discover the power of association with a specific stimulus – anchoring.

By learning about the process of anchoring you can discover how to control your state – vital if you want to be in control of your behaviour at all times. You can learn how to access a positive, resourceful, motivated state any time you want through the process of anchoring. We are subject to anchoring every day, anchors are our response to a specific stimulus. For example, our alarm going off in the morning is a cue to turn it off and get up. Stopping at red traffic lights is an anchor. Perhaps smelling fresh ground coffee or baked bread evokes certain feelings in you. Or even hearing a certain song can stir feelings internally. We can choose to be in a specific positive state any time we choose through learning anchoring techniques. If you wanted to feel confident and calm when you were about to give a presentation or go to an interview, how powerful would that be?

Presentation Skills

Learn how to present confidently and elegantly and be able to deliver your information across to the audience with extreme clarity and structured in such a way that will encompass and draw in every different learning style. You will discover an excellent format to that will enable you to present elegantly, whether it’s to an audience of 2 people or 100 or even 1000 people! You can utilize anchoring techniques to be in control of your state at all times. And you will be able to elicit particular states in your audience too – you could get them relaxed, excited, laughing or motivated!

How to Resolve Internal Conflict (Parts Integration)

Ever been in two minds about something? Perhaps on one hand you believe this and feel that, and on the other hand, you feel and believe something totally different. Internal conflicts sap a lot of energy. It’s like arguing with a partner 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Think about how much more energy you would have when you resolve these internal conflicts? When you are completely aligned within yourself, you will have more energy to go out there and achieve your goals. And your behaviour will be congruent too.

Reframing

With reframing you will learn about the NLP negotiation model and how to negotiate effectively. Does that sound good? Perhaps you respond to someone else’s behaviour or a specific situation in a certain way, which may not be useful to you. With reframing we can learn how to respond to certain events, people and behaviours in a different way enabling us to free ourselves of unhelpful responses and perceptions to specific things and allow us to see things differently, and in a more positive light. We can also soften objections others may have using reframing.

Fast Phobia Model

A phobia is an intense, irrational response of fear to a specific situation, thing, function or person that causes that person to not function in a normal manner. With the Fast Phobia Model, the negative feeling associated with the phobia is dissolved and the person will no longer be affected by that stimulus. This technique is fast, and it can also be used with those suffering from trauma or PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). It is an incredibly powerful and life-changing technique.

Effective Outcome and Goal Setting

Have you ever set goals that you didn’t achieve? Perhaps you just thought about them or just jotted some information down and then nothing happened. Or maybe you never thought about setting goals. With powerful proven goal-setting techniques in NLP, you will learn how to write goals specifically using language that your unconscious mind understands that will enable you to actually achieve them. Throughout the course, you will be setting and refining your goals and they often get bigger and bigger and more exciting as the course progresses! You can write goals in many areas of life, including career, family, relationships, health/fitness, leisure. Without goals, it’s like going on a voyage on a big ship that’s just drifting in the ocean, it doesn’t have a destination. When we set goals, we have a focus and a motivation to achieve great things and it helps give us a purpose.

Ecology

Ecology in NLP terms is the study of consequences. We teach win/win situations for all whether it’s in business, therapy, coaching, sport or education. NLP techniques are extremely powerful and our ethos is very much about using NLP with integrity and ethics and with positive intent to create win/win situations for all.

Time Line Therapy®

Time Line Therapy® is an incredibly powerful technique that allows people freedom from a host of negative emotions and limiting decisions. It was created by Dr Tad James 25 years ago and in that time it has helped countless people let go of their emotional baggage and negative emotions and live a life that is happy and fulfilling. It is a positively life changing technique and it allows the person to go back to revisit past events (but without relieving the actual memories or emotions associated with them) which means it’s comfortable and safe. It allows the person to remove blocks and to increase their confidence levels. Time Line Therapy® is experienced as part of the NLP Practitioner course and our delegates leave the course feeling so much lighter, freer and happy! To become a certified Practitioner of Time Line Therapy®you would need to attend our two-day Time Line Therapy® Practitioner course as there’s a lot to learn in order to do Time Line Therapy® with others, and wouldn’t fit on our already intensive NLP Practitioner course!

Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, a natural state of heightened awareness during which the client is able to calmly concentrate intensely and effectively. It is almost like being in a day dream. You will learn that all Hypnosis is self hypnosis, and that we ‘do’ self induced hypnosis all the time. We all enter into a hypnotic state several times every day without even realizing it: watching TV, reading books and newspapers, driving a car (ever got from A to B concentrating on your journey yet not remembering how you got there?!). Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to help you make the positive changes you want and to help you to safely overcome stresses and problems you may have. During a hypnotic state, you are able to open your unconscious mind to beneficial suggestions and where you can make use of your imagination to help make positive changes in your life. You will have a taster on the NLP Practitioner course and our delegates love it. To become a certified Practitioner of Hypnosis, attendance on a separate 2 day Hypnosis Practitioner course is a requirement, where you will learn light to medium trance induction techniques.
